Role Description

The Anaplan Presales Lead will be responsible for collaborating with Twelve Account Executives and Account Managers to uncover prospect pain points, design and deliver software demos that address those pain points, and create business cases to support further investment in Anaplan. In addition, the Anaplan Presales Lead will own Twelve’s internal library of standard and custom demos to ensure adherence to best practices, industry trends, and the latest platform updates. Finally, this person will be responsible for building and maintaining Twelve’s competitive intelligence capabilities to facilitate Anaplan objection handling strategies that arise during sales cycles. This is a brand-new role at Twelve and will be critical in supporting our Anaplan business development activities and strategy during the upcoming fiscal year!

What you'll do:

  • Prospect and Customer Facing (75%)
    • Lead customer discovery sessions for large-scale engagements to document pain points and uncover opportunities for improvement
    • Work with Account Executives and Account Managers to match pain points to solution capabilities; present back to project sponsors
    • Design and deliver standard and custom demos that address customer pain points while highlighting the value that Anaplan can deliver
    • Build and deliver custom Proof of Concept models in Anaplan when needed that align prospect needs with platform capabilities
    • Match prospect needs to similar customer success stories within industry to strengthen proposal deliverables
    • Collaborate with Twelve and Anaplan sales teams to build business cases to support investment in Services and ACV
    • Collaborate with Twelve and Anaplan sales teams to complete RFP’s, positioning value of potential software and services engagements
  • Internal Functions (25%)
    • Own and maintain Twelve’s core custom and standard demo library; update models to incorporate latest industry and use case trends, new functionality in Anaplan, and best practices within Anaplan
    • Develop new demo models as dictated by business needs
    • Create messaging to educate Twelve sales team on how best to position new product functionality to maximize value
    • Build and own Twelve’s internal competitive intelligence repository around Anaplan; become internal SME on competitive products and how best to position Anaplan against comparable products in market
    • Collaborate with Senior Leadership and Marketing on new business development strategy, with particular focus on Twelve’s industry and use case specializations
    • Own Twelve’s relationship with Anaplan’s Partner Presales Team and communicate relevant updates across our organization

More about you:

  • Demonstrated experience designing, delivering, and supporting high-value use cases in Anaplan
  • Ability to articulate Connected Planning concepts and benefits to both technical and executive stakeholders across Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain
  • Experience building consensus across disparate business functions to align on a common goal
  • Certifications and Skills:
    • Level 1 and 2 certifications in Anaplan
    • Excellent demo and presentation skills
    • Above average proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint

Bonus points:

  • Level 3 certification in Anaplan
  • Master Anaplanner certification
  • Anaplan Presales certification
  • Industry experience in CPG, Pharmaceuticals, or Tech
  • Experience developing business cases to support project investment in technology initiatives
  • Knowledge or experience in Anaplan adjacent products like Workday (Adaptive), OneStream, Hyperion, SAP, or TM1

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base Salary
  • Annual Bonus, payable quarterly
    • 75% - Based on Total Anaplan Revenue and Net New Anaplan ACV attainment to goals
    • 25% - MBOs related to internal presales ownership

This is a full-time, exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening, weekend work and adjustment to client time zones in the U.S. may be required as job duties demand.
